Jurassic Park 5th and 6th Iteration 1st Hour Notes
Characters
Hammond: Stubborn, selfish, greedy (money and just for the "rich kids")
Biotech in medicine versus entertainment.
Does not witness or experience the reality of the park.
Gennaro: Transformed from third iteration to the end of the sixth. Unlike Hammond, he isn't blinded by what is going on. Greed to a certain extent.
Theory: Gennaro being with Muldoon for a lot of the experience influences his original perspective on greed/money.
Dr. Sattler: Despite others referring to as "a girl" or a nurse, she decides to be the bait. Kept out of the loop a lot.
"Malcolm's filter"
Malcolm: Voice of reason. Confuses Hammond with scientific jargon.
Pool table analogy for chaos theory.
Tim:
Why is it more serious when children are involved?
Children: vulnerable, fragile, adults seems more untouchable, adults are now responsible for others (extra dimension), exposition opportunity to use the kids as a method for explaining to the reader. Tim thought in a different way to "fix" the computer/kids think more linearly. Kids are generally viewed as innocent.
Fairly smart/resourceful by trapping the raptor in the freezer.
Lex: Remember, she is eight years old.
Children used as an element of suspense. Lex creates more issues/suspense with her objections and questions.
Wu's death: raptors too smart and yanked him out the door.
Creator destroyed by his own creation.
Proud of the dinosaurs breeding. "Proof" of his prowess as a scientists.
Themes
If you are not in the circle, we don't see you.
Raptors also have their self-drive like the humans (Ex. killing the baby raptor in the lab).
