Better quality of life - use the profits they made. Peasants, specifically farmers, were one of the biggest winners of the formation of the NEP. This is because hard-working farmers who were producing grain were being taken off almost all of their food by the government. Whilst lazy farmers who produced little would not get taken off their grain. This caused grain production to slow down. After the NEP was taken into action, all farmers, including lazy ones, were now getting taken half of their grains and the other half can be used to keep for themselves and to sell. This helped make plenty of farmers more wealthier, thus formed a middle-class group of people called the Kulaks.
