Make it fun
Learning doesn't need to be so formal and serious-- when student view learning as serious they may have anxious or stressed reactions to tests or activities
Everyone learns differently. There are students whose abolities will be easier to recognize while others may not be so apparent.
Culture and experience is an important part of learning and so that should be taken in to account when speaking about sensitive topics. Rather than playing "devils advocate", acknowledge the reality of some people's lives.
Listen to podcasts and watch videos! Having these resources are great for when youre busy and need something to listen to . It can be a passtime or something you intently use.
Who can teach well? Those willing to put in the work and able to put aside their ego for the better of their students
Reflection: I really loved being able to write out all my thoughts at once. I think I pretty frequently would ask myself questions about what I had written down and ask "why?". This helped with evolving some of the first ideas I wrote down a few weeks ago. I have learned that being someone who presents information is easy, but being a caring and empathetic teacher is a completely different playing field. What most changed my views: probably listening to the podcasts on the website you provided. The interviewer and interviewee were both incredibly filled in on what they needed to know as well as what they wanted to say. This made me think deeper into why I believe that it's not so bad to reach out and ask for help when you think you may not be your best version (or working toward it). Overall, I loved finding out creative ways to engage my students and help them participate while also acknowledging how I should be open to doing the same as a teacher.
