As a general rule, we have said that the 3rd person singular in the present simple has a final -s. But there are exceptions depending on the verb ending in -y, -o, -ch, -sh, -ss, -x.
If the verb ends in -y preceded by a consonant, the -y is replaced by -ies.

If the ending -y is preceded by a vowel, as we have seen before as the verb "to play", only one -s will be added to it.

If the verb ends in -o preceded by a consonant, -es will be added.

If the verb ends in -ch, -sh, -ss, -x, -es is added.

This is used to talk about things, daily habits or activities that are done every day and are always true. With I, You and We base lexical verb is used, and the -s He and She lexema added.
