Presentation
Janine is a 14 y/o female whose primary complaint relates to pain and discomfort in her upper and lower (bowels) abdominal region. Her progression post infection wise, appears to suggest lowered immunity and a lack of rest from the recent parasitic infection and stomach ulceration.
Digestive dysfunction / lowered immunity seemed to be present as an infant in Janine; susceptibility to certain conditions. stools suggest a lack of bile/ bilirubin due to light colour
Casual Analysis Factors
-
Sustaining
- periods of dietary/ food restriction
- Removal of several food Categories; gluten despite no coeliac dx or family hx. Key vitamins/nutrs missing from diet?
- Low bilirubin levels 12<umol/L; hypobilirumin is correlated w/ immune flare-ups due to immune-modulatory actions of bilirubin (Creeden, Gordon, Stec & Hinds, 2021).
excitatory factors (make the cond worse) Food restriction: nausea symps still present / could be psychosomatic
