The impacts

Starbucks owns 50% of the businesses that are currently licensed as stores and coffee shops throughout the world.

In 1998, through the acquisition of the British chain Seattle Coffee Company that owned 60 coffee shops in the United Kingdom, the merger was carried out, changing the name to Starbucks, the company expanded its activities internationally.

In September 2002 they opened their first branch in Mexico. By March 2016, it already had 600 stores in the country.

In early 2004 the first Starbucks store in France opened on the Opera square in Paris. In 2011 there were 59 stores in France

As of February 2007, Starbucks had 7,521 locations around the world: 6,010 of them in the United States and 1,511 in other countries.

The success of Starbucks cafés has been good for coffee distributors all over the United States.

Starbucks’ creativity has set off a chain reaction of innovation in the once-sleepy industry.

Kraft’s Maxwell House now markets a slew of new brands, including Italian Espresso Roast, Rich French Roast, Master Blend, and Colombian Supreme, and it has also successfully expanded its upscale mail-order business, Gevalia.

When individual companies increase the perceived “premiumness” of a product through innovations in the product itself or the way it’s delivered, the entire category can reap higher prices and profits.

Tazo Tea Company is a tea and herbal tea blender and distributor founded in Portland, Oregon, now a division of Unilever based in Kent, Washington.
