Portugal and Spain
In 1680, the colonial dominance of Protugal was supreme.
The colony of Brazil was unruly, nearly lawless in parts and absolutely teeming with economic potential.
In the stipulation, Portugal would have had little chance to remain even.

Taking new land was no longer as simply as just setting foot and learnng fifty soldiers in the name of the Queen. Now it took investmnt and post civil war, Portugal had little of that to fill.
Rebellion, civil war, and European mass conflict had meant that after nearly twenty years under Spanish rule, thy were once kingdom of thir own.

By 1680, Prtugal was finally free.
Spanish and Italian colonists boded in, and with the founding ot Montevideo, and Portuguese influence being pushed back, it became the Banda Oriental
Independence of Ecuador
Uruguay wanted freedom, "liberty or death".
So in 1825, only three years into Brazilian rule, Uruguayan elites sot together and declared their independence fo the final time.
Artiga fought with many people, but he lost.
In the end,internaional pressure and mounting troblesat home led theEmperor to sign a declaration of independence for the Eastern Bank.
