From this, Singapore continued being competitive on a global scale + provided more employment opportunities
Govt imposed $150 day levy on all Singaporeans who wish to enter casinos as they were aware of social consequences that could bring, from high gambling rates
Set up National Council on Problem Gambling --> conducts public education on prevention + provides counselling services
Important --> society + economy can function now and be sustained in future, so that Singapore would not be left behind as world progresses

Public Housing Scheme (having a share) --> enables many people to own homes thru provision of housing grants (CPF --> first-time couples --> increase home ownership rates)

Edusave Scholarship + Merit Bursary Awards --> reward top 10% and 25% of students respectively for performing well in academics
