GREECE AND PERSIA
CYRUS THE GREAT
The Medes ruled the Persian for about 150 years. In 550 BC Cyrus II led a persian revolt against the Medes, it was successful, then Persia conquered the Meds.

THE PERSIAN FIGHT GREECE
In 499 BC several Greek cities in Asia Minor reveled against Persian rule. Several Greek cities in main land Greece send soldiers to join the fight against Persians. The revolt was put down, but Darius swore to get revenge.
PERSIAN WARS
THE BATTLE OF MARATHON
The Athenian army had only 11,000 soldiers while the Persian had 15,000. However the Greeks won the battle because they have betteer weapons and clever leaders.
According to legend, a messangeer ran from Marathon to Athens (26 miles) to bring news of the great victory, and after crying out "Rejoice! We conquer!" the messenger fell and died.

BATTLE OF SALAMIS
After the burns of the city, the Athens defeated the Persian navy, they lead the Persian navy to the narrow straits of Salamis, and the Persian had so many ships that they couldn't steer well and the smaller Athenian boats sank many Persian ships. The ones that not was destroyed returned home.
BATTLE OF PLATAEA
Soon after the Battle of Salamis, an army of all Greece, beat the Persians and defeated the Persian left Greece.
This battle ended the Persian Wars.
585-529 BC
He didn't force people to adopt persian cotums, he didn't mistreat them, allowed the conquered Babyloniars to keep worshipping their own gods. Cyrus allowed the Jews who had been slaves, return to their homeland.
THE PERSIAN ARMY
They were very organized, the heart of the army were the Inmortals 10,000 soldiers bravery and skill, also had a cabalery (a unit of soldiers who ride horses) his strategy was used his cabalery to charge the enemy and shoot them with arrows before the Inmortals attacked. Together could defeat almost any foe.
