Classical Music
They show great musical complexity thanks to the composer's use of development, modulation (tonality changes), variation rather than exact repetition, musical phrases that do not always have the same length, counterpoint, polyphony, and sophisticated harmony.
Blues
The musical style that originated from the African migration during slavery in North America and is distinguished by melancholic and raw guitar chords, as well as lyrics that narrate adventures of rural and urban life, heartbreak and injustices
Jazz
Jazz is a musical genre born among African-American musicians descended from former slaves, who added to their own tradition, characterized by a strong prominence of rhythm and improvisation of rhythm and improvisation, some elements of European music.
Hardcore punk
Hardcore punk, simply called hardcore, is a punk-derived musical subgenre, which originated in the United States and later the United Kingdom in the late 1970s.
It is characterized by being the evolution of the most energetic aspects of punk: the tempos and bars are very fast, the drum rhythms very fast and aggressive (usually 180 to 200 beats per minute).
Funk
Funk is a musical genre that was born between the mid-to-late 1960s when mainly African-American musicians merged soul, jazz, Latin rhythms (mambo, for example) and R&B resulting in a new rhythmic and danceable musical form.
Funk reduces the prominence of melody and harmony and provides, in return, greater weight to percussion and the electric bass line.
Soul
Flamenco
Flamenco is a Spanish musical genre that developed in Andalusia, especially in areas of Huelva, Cádiz, Seville, as well as in some areas of the Region of Murcia and Extremadura. Its main facets are singing, touch and dancing, also having its own traditions and norms.
Soul is a style whose origin results from the fusion of Gospell, religious music that emerged from African-American churches, as well as R&B and pop. Later, the label that was given to this style of racial music would disappear, being accepted by the entire population. One of the most representative singers of Soul, was Sam Cooke, he became the first artist of color to triumph on the music scene in the 60s and 70s.
Rock
It is a contemporary musical genre aimed at encompassing each of the various musical genres derived from rock and roll. Rock music usually has a strong setback, often focusing on the guitar, both electric and acoustic.Primitive rock is derived from a large number of sources, primarily Blues, Rythm and blues, and Country Music, but also gospel, traditional pop, Jazz, and Folk.
Metal
Metal is a musical genre derived from Hard Rock, Acid Rock and Blues. It also incorporates characteristic elements of classical music. Metal is characterized by the use of distorted guitars, robust basses and versatile drums, all this in combination to create a powerful, rhythmic and strident sound.
Pop
"Pop music" means popular, and as the name suggests, it is music for the masses. pop includes different types of musical genres and has more to do with the audience for whom the songs are intended. Popular artists of the pop genre are Michael Jackson, Madonna, Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, Shakira, Elton John, and Justin Timberlake.
Ska
Ska originated in Jamaica in the late 1950s, and contains elements of mentho music, calypso music, jazz, and rhythm and blues. Ska's music is highly danceable, upbeat, fast-paced, and exciting. Ska influenced other styles that were born in Jamaica such as rocksteady or the well-known reggae.
Reggae
Reggae music originated in Jamaica, influenced, by ska and rocksteady, also by other styles such as blues and jazz. Reggae song lyrics are linked to social criticism, although some songs address different themes. Some great reggae musicians are Bob Marley, Los Cafres, Lee Perry, Jimmy Cliff, and Gregory Isaacs.
Salsa
Salsa is a musical style that is closely linked to the dance of the same name. The word salsa as such has its origin in the New York Bronx, although the influences are purely Latin, with Cuba being possibly the country with the most weight in its creation. Salsa is danced in 4/4 time. The basic steps, however, are spread over two bars, so the dancers count not by four, but by eight.
Hip Hop
Dance music style born in the United States of America in the 1970s as a derivation of funk and characterized by its electronic base and by being associated with alternative manifestations such as break dance or graffiti.
Many people understand that hip hop is a musical genre based on rhyming at high speed over a beat. But in reality this is only one of its aspects, called rap, a musical genre of an urban and vindictive character.
