The positive lead ions travel to the cathode (negative electrode) and the negative bromide ions travel to the anode (positive electrode)
Lead ions gain electrons (are reduced) and form molten pure lead while bromine ions lose electrons (are oxidised) and form bromine gas

Blast Furnace
Process
- Blasts of hot air are blown in near the bottom of the furnace
- oxygen in the blasts of air reacts with coke (carbon) to form carbon monoxide
- Raw materials are added at the top of the furnace.
-
- As the carbon monoxide rises up the furnace it reacts with the iron ore to form iron
-
- Molten iron runs to the bottom of the furnace, it is tapped off from time to time
