SDG
the sustainable development goals have allowed the world to increase is GDP between the years of 2000-25 where extreme poverty rates declined from 27%-10%
SGDg's focus on sustainable development while maintaining economic and environmental well being; the goals are interconnected and have a global focus
Light posts set out at night in Lebanon have caused women to feel safe at nights which has allowed them to participate in tasks after dusk
water project in Tanzania.
this project has helped many rural villages and town get access to sanitation and clean water. this has greatly benefited these communities as kids would have to collect water from a river taking up most of the day. these pipes, it has allowed these kids to use this time to go to school
improving gender equality
the girl effect
, the girl effect is improving as more and more girls in India are being sent to school, with education girls are able to get jobs, from this they are viewed as more valuable intern leading to better lives for the girls. educating girls it reduces youth marriage and youth birth. As these educated girls grow up they are able to send the next generation of girls to get an education.
girls are viewed as a bad thing in India culture as when a girl is married off the girls family have to pay the husbands family a dowry ( a sum of money or other valuables things to help the husband take care of there daughter) this is why girls are not sent to school, as once the girl is married off she is considered a member of the husbands family and no long apart of her family.
disagree
North Korea
- north Korea is not improving as the country is currently controlled by the dictator Kim Jon Un, the dictatorship has meant that the country has had trade banned placed on it. this has resulted in the country being very poor with more the 60% of the population under the poverty line
Hindi belt
- states in the Hindi belt are much poorer and underdeveloped compared to other Indian states like Kerala. it do not seem the Hindi belt is improving.
freight equalisation scheme, poor political vision, under-investments in the key sectors of agriculture, infrastructure and education.
the states in the Hindi belt do not have as much access to international trade as these states are landlocked.
this could be a cause as all Indian states that have a section of their border as the sea are much more developed compared to states in the Hindi belt.
another causes of the underdevelopment could be because the the governments in these states
DR Congo
is not improving as it is facing many issues like political instability and a high rate of corruption which have led to conflict. this has been caused by past colonisation and dictatorship.
