POLLINATION
Pollination happens when pollen is moved from anther to stigma.
Pollination are different ways of pollination
Through wind
Through animals and insects.
By water
Pollen contains sperm. After pollen lands on the stigma, a tube grows from each pollen grain. The tube grows through the style to an ovule.
Ovules are found inside the ovary. Ovules contain eggs. Fertilization happens when the sperm fuses with the egg inside an ovule.
Wind or other animals are responsible for movement of the pollen.
FROM FLOWER TO FRUIT
After fertilization, ovule develops into a seed.
Ovary surrounding ovule becomes fruit.
As fruit swells and ripens it protects the developing seed. Fruits often help plants spread into seeds.
Seed contains a tiny underdevloped plant.
These fruits are edible and are scattered by the animal or the wind and even sometimes by water.
FROM SEED TO PLANT
Once a seed is fully developed, the young plant inside stops growing. The seed may get dormant after this.
Dormant seeds may often survive long periods of droughts or freezing temperatures. Some seeds need forest fires to break their dormancy.
When seeds are planted in a suitable temperature they sprout.Ideal temperature, water and air is required for germination of seeds.
