Plant tissuess
types
Vascular
Vascular tissue is a complex conducting tissue, formed of more than one cell type, found in vascular plants. The primary components of vascular tissue are the xylem and phloem.
Complex vascular Tissue
Xylem: Conducts water and dissolved minerals
pholem: transport sugars
Ground
The ground tissue is like a bag it comprises the primary plant body. Parenchyma, collenchyma, and sclerenchyma cells are common in the ground tissue.
Parenchyma
Cells are thin with flexible cell walls. Functions include photosynthesis, storage of starch, proteins, and oils and structural support, nectar secretion, and gas exchange.
Sclerenchyma
Cells are thick cell walls. Functions resist stretching and compression. We use them to create paper, rope, clothes.
Collenchyma
The cell has a cell wall that is thickened unevenly. The function gives support during rapidly growing plant parts like stems and leafs stalks.
Dermal
-
Dermal tissue is composed of epidermal cells, That are closely packed, cells that are codered with a waxy cuticle that aids in the prevention of water loss.
-
Meristematic
This cells by getting divided , contribute to the growth of the plant.
Permanent
In contrast, permanent tissue consists of plant cells that are no longer actively dividing.
