The world on the turtle's back
Purpose:
the woman was pregnant, and the husbad was distracted finding some food to his wife
in the beginning there was no world, no land, no men, only a woman and a husband in the sky and they was a gods
the woman decided that she wanted some bark from the great tree, but that they don´t know is the tree have a empty space so she tried to have the roots and she fells down.

The world on the turtle´s back is a myth about the cration of the world
this myth try to explain the cration and how the earth started to grow up and how a turtle's back is the root of this
the people have stories about creation. These tales explain how they came to be and how they ended up in their homeland.

Lesson 2
Balboa
Purposes
Balboa was a bad man who had to pay for his crimes, and he felt very bad about it.
He was finally publicly executed for what he did in the past
-Balboa goes up a montain in search of the South sea. - He then sees his dog and esperiences flashback.
-After flashback he discoverds the South Sea and names it for Spain.
-A flashback foward the happends about Balboa going back to Spain and eventually gets tried for treason for his past actions/crimes.
-He gets publicly executed.
Was a prideful, violent, ambitious, and callous man that killed people without remorse.
Elements
The theme of the history is arrogance and how being overly ambitious can result in one´s downfall.
Balboa uses third person omniscient point of view since the author uses "he", "his", "her", and "it".
Tone is the author´s attitude towards the topic.
Authors use the tone to help further develop the theme.

Main idea
Cabeza devaca (the leader of the expedition) takes people and started a expedition during winter and they founded the indians and they became medicine-men
Historical Background
The Spanish explorer Cabeza de Vaca was born in Jerez de la Frontera into a family that took the title Cabeza de Vaca, "head of a cow," from his mother's side of the family. In 1212, one of her ancestors, a shepherd named Martín Alhaja, had helped the Spanish Christians win an important battle against the Moors by marking an unguarded mountain pass with a cow skull
Theme
The theme of the story is adventure, and as Cabeza de Vaca he was a Spanish conqueror who explored the southern coast of North America and later became a slave
Author's purpose
At this point in the account, Narváez´s barge has abandoned the rest, and Cabeza the Vaca´s barge has joined one commanded by two other officers. The next three chapters describe the shipwreck of Cabeza de Vaca´s barge on Galveston Islan and the crew´s encounter with the Karankawa Indians who lived there.
