To carry out my investigation, I provided two short recordings of two female speakers, in their late 20s/early 30s. I had 11 participants who listened to the two recordings. I asked them to rate the two on a scale of 10 in five traits, namely, intelligence, wealth, education, friendliness, and honesty. My original hypothesis was confirmed as 6 chose the mixer as the wealthier one, while only 2 rated the non-mixer higher (and 3 rated them as equally wealthy). However, what I didn’t expect was the mixer to be rated as the more honest one. Finally, the intelligence was another factor which I found intriguing, as the majority of the participants rated the non-mixer as the more intelligent one.
Exciting results, thank you!
