- - - - I managed to reach 139 people with my questionnaire by now. I've got percentual results for every sentence which I will be listing here soon, drawing a conclusion from the data. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfEokzs2sDq-nxh8gSOn5yb2FiAXFxIoW0UDc9UI6urU6kKPw/viewform?usp=sf_link As you can see the data by clicking on the link, there is a percentage of people who use the Romanian-induced forms, but the small numbers might be the high level of education of the participants or the observer's paradox, assuming they lied. The biggest percentage was at the word "könyv" instead of "jogosítvány", which is "book" instead of "license" when talking about a driver's license. ME
- - - - The results indicate that my hypothesis was actually right. The subjects rated both the solidarity (covert prestige) and status (overt prestige) traits more negatively in case of the recording with code mixing. Moreover, the recording without code mixing had higher covert prestige than overt prestige, and interestingly the opposite can be observed in case of the other recording. My conclusion would be that people indeed have negative attitude towards code mixing, however, it would be interesting to investigate this with people whose level of English proficiency is different.       - The subjects of my research were 8 friends of mine (4 men, 4 women) who speak English relatively good. They listened to 2 recordings in Hungarian, but one of them was full of English words/expressions (code mixing). Then they filled out a questionnaire and rated solidarity traits (friendliness, kindness, politeness etc.) and status traits (confidence, intelligence, wealthiness etc.) on a scale from 1-6. (MK)

- - - - I asked 7 people to take part in it and I showed them 15 phraseologisms. I found that it isn't necessarily true that older people know more phraseologisms than younger people. I think that the level of education and some other factors play a big role in it too. My two oldest participants knew very different amounts, one knew the most of all people, the other the least (though she said she heard some of them, just didn't know the meaning). The younger participants also knew varying number of the phraseologisms. I also found that in many cases people interpret them differently, knew a different meaning for them.
- - - - To summarize, my theory was generally confirmed. stable color associations of five of my respondents really influenced their perception of unfamiliar phraseological units in Russian. Almost all phraseological units that have meanings "opposite" to their colors were identified by the respondents according to their usual connotation in their first language.
