- - - - What is abuse:
        
        Domestic violence is the physical, sexual, psychological or financial violence that takes place within an intimate or family-type relationship and forms a pattern of coercive and controlling behavior. This can include forced marriage and so-called ‘honor’ crimes. Domestic violence may include a range of abusive behaviors, not all of which are in themselves inherently ‘violent’ (Women's Aid, 2009).
        
        Most abuse came from caregivers or personal aids or someone the person was close to
      - There is a large gap of research in data surrounding SA in Disabled women pop.
      - Barriers to support:
        
        Low uptake in services for disabled women, low # of women reporting to disabled services, lack of awareness, lack of services or knowledge in abuse services; lack of seriousness when engaging with police or services
  - - - Ask the question who is going to do the work if the issue is already underfunded and under researched, because it shouldn't be disabled people who have to do the work if they’ve already done the work (just my opinion).
    - - Are we as a society putting disabled children at risk for SA by institutionalizing them rather than accommodating their needs or trying to understand them?
