NHS, was launched by the government in 1948, the aim was to provide free health care- which was paid for by national insurance, it was overseen by Minister of Health Aneurin Bevan.
The NHS took over Hospitals and Surgeries but initially could not afford updates. Short Term- medical care access improved, but quality didn't.
The government made changes throughout the 1960s, more hospitals across the country, introducing a GP's charter in 1966, which improved standards of care.
