- - - - Guernica was painted in 1937 by Pablo Picasso. Guernica shows the tragedies of war and the suffering it inflicts upon individuals, particularly innocent civilians. This work has gained a monumental status, becoming a perpetual reminder of the tragedies of war, an anti-war symbol, and an embodiment of peace.
      - The title 'Guernica' refers to the city that was bombed by Nazi planes during the Spanish Civil War.
      - In the center of the painting, between the bull and the horse, there is the figure of a dove that appears to be screaming – a symbol of threatened peace in Europe. Finally, to the right of the horse, there are three other women.
