Body Systems
Muscular System
-
Diseases-
Tendonitis- overusing a muscle that causes a tendon to become irritated, swollen, and inflamed.
-
-
-
Care- Working out can help your muscles drastically. Not only working out, but eating your fruits and vegetables can replenish your muscles. Its also important to stretch and eat dark leafy green vegetables.
The nervous system signals to our muscles that we should move them. These systems help our body to move. Without these systems we would be like a vegetable.
-
Digestive System
-
Stomach- breaks down food in acid
Large Intestine- Forms feces
Small Intestine- Absorbs nutrients and collects vitamins.
mouth- takes in food and nutrients.
Constipation- When feces harden and its hard to release bowel movement.
Diarrhea- Feces are let go in liquid form.
Gallstones- A harden deposit within the gallbladder.
-
The muscular system works with the digestive system. This is because the food get compressed down by muscles which is also apart of the muscular system. Food is then in the stomach which is also technically a muscle.

Respiratory System
Bronchitis- inflammation of the bronchi caused by infection or exposure to irritants such as tobacco and air pollution.
-
Asthma- an inflammatory condition in which the trachea, bronchi, and
bronchioles become narrowed, causing difficulty in breathing.
Functions 1. External Respiration: oxygen moves from lungs into the blood & carbon dioxide moves from blood into lungs.
- Internal Respiration: oxygen moves from the blood into the cells & carbon dioxide moves from the cells into the blood.
Care: We should not smoke. When people smoke there is tar. This tar can severely harm the respiratory system.
Structures
Lungs- Take air in and out
Nose- an airway for air to go within the body and for CO2 to come out.
Mouth- Helps for air to come in and exhale out
Trachea- an airway system.
The nervous system signals to our body. It does this by telling our body we need to take in air. We also need to take air out.
-
Skeletal System
Structures
Bones- The structure of the human body consists of 206 bones. The structure helps us stand up and helps us walk.
Tendons- flexible cord connecting muscle to bone.
Joints- Connection of bones in body.
Connective tissue- provides structure.
Functions
The skeletal system consists of all the bones in your body. It provides structure to
the body. Our body has 206 bones. Each of these bones have special functions.
-
Care
Some care can include exercise and healthy eating. To have a healthy lifestyle can improve
many aspects of the skeletal system. To have stronger bones is caused by a healthy lifestyle by
-
Diseases- Arthritis- Inflammation of joints.
Scoliosis- Extreme curvature of spine.
Rickets- softening of bones.
The bones and muscles are connected by tendons. Which is apart our our muscular system. When these work together we can move.
Nervous System
-
-
Care- We should exercise and stretch. Eat green leafy vegetables. We should also walk barefoot. We should also get the proper amount of sleep.
Diseases-
Spinal injuries- can range from mild numbness to severe and permanent nerve damage. If the spinal cord is severed, paralysis usually results. (Paraplegia or Quadriplegia)
-
-
The nervous systems is used to signal. So the nervous system can signal someone to move their bones. The bones can then move because it was a signal from the brain.
-
Endocrine System
Function: ENDOCRINE GLANDS: tubeless organs or groups of cells that secrete hormones into the bloodstream.
HORMONES: chemicals that regulate the body’s functions
Structures Thyroid- provides major role in metabolism.
Pituitary Gland- controls blood pressure and hormones.
Pancreas- produces enzymes
Diabetes Mellitus- a disorder in which the pancreas produces too little or no insulin, resulting in high blood glucose levels.
Graves’ Disease- also called hyperthyroidism/hypothyroidism. It is a disorder in which an overactive and enlarged thyroid gland produces excessive amounts of thyroxine.
-
round face, humped upper back, thin & easily bruised skin, as well as fragile bones.
We should go for regular medical checkups with the doctor to make sure everything is in check. The doctor would also tell us to watch our diet and be active.
Both are made with communication. There are transmitters that contribute to movement and ideas. These both systems give signals from the brain.
Cardiovascular System
-
Provide oxygen, carries away waste.
-
-
-
-
Works with respiratory system to get blood and airflow pumping. These both want to get blood and air to move around the body. Basically they both help circulate.
