Different parts of narrative structure
Climax: Is the big moment in the story
falling actions:Is the loger part of the story
Exposition: The author introduce the place or characters begining
Rissing action: Explain the obstacles or conflict the main characters has to face in the story
Resolution: Is the ´´desenlace ´´ or the end of the story.
Types of conflicts
Man vs. Man
one person against another
Man vs. self
Internal conflict. A man is fighting against self.
Man vs. Society
Society working against a man
Man vs. Nature
nature working against a person.
Protagonist and antagonist
Protagonist: the protagonist is the main character of the story
differences: the protagonist is the main character, with whom our audience must empathize, the antagonist represents the opposing force that prevents him from reaching his goal.
antagonist: An antagonist is character who causes problems in the story
Differences between short stories and novels
Short Story
Rising Action: One or two main events involving few characters over several paragraphs
Climax: Protagonist makes a decision to solve the conflict.
Falling Action: Protagonist experiences the effects of the decision.
Exposition: Introduction over a few paragraphs or sentences at the beginning.
Dénouement: Protagonist learns a lesson. This may be expressed over a few paragraphs or sentences at the end. The end is often surprising to the reader.
The difference between the novel and the story
Novel
Exposition: Introduction over a few chapters at the beginning.
Rising Action: Many events involving many characters over several chapters.
Climax: Protagonist makes a decision to solve the conflict.
Falling Action: Protagonist experiences the effects of the decision.
Dénouement: Protagonist learns a lesson. This may be expressed over a few chapters at the end.
