Sonnet
A sonnet with strictly defined rhythm and structure. The origin of this traditional form can be traced back to the 1500s. Many famous love poems are written in the form of sonnets.

meter
In the poetry, meter is a pattern of a stressed and unstressed syllables. Each unit of meter, known as a foot, consists of one stressed syllable and one or two unstressed syllables. Sonnets are written in iambic pentameter, with five feet in each line.
rhyme scheme
There are many different types of rhymes that poets use in their work: internal rhymes, slant rhymes, eye rhymes, identical rhymes, and more. One of the most common ways to write a rhyming poem is to use a rhyme scheme composed of shared vowel sounds or consonants.

Irony
The irony is a literary device used to show a special kind of contrast between appearance and reality. Writers often use irony to create humor. There are three types of irony frequently used in literature: situational, dramatic, and verbal. Read the definition of each type in this chart. Then write how each type could be funny
