characteristics
clarity
the prophet (saw) was always clear in goal, creed and style. the prophet did not conceal anything in his call to islam and made his message clear.
trust in Allah
the messenger tried his best and trusted Allah to help him become successful, you should always try your best but don't forget that Allah is supporting you in your right choices.
gradual progress
the prophet was careful not to overload people with his message immediately, he started with his family, then his friends, and when most people started to accept it , he moved on to the public.
style
argue in a courteous manner, dont be vicious or aggressive when defending yourself or islam, that will give the wrong impression
