Mode of operation
Power stroke
The spark produced by the spark plug ingnites the mixture and the piston goes down
Intake stroke
The intake valve opens to let the mixture into the combustion chamber
Ehaust stroke
The exhaus valve opens, the piston reaches the top and the gases leave the cylinder
Compression stroke
The valves close while the piston goes up and compresses the mixture
