Direct Democracy vs. Representative Democracy
Representative: Democracy is when 87 representatives that they elected make discussions for us.
Direct Democracy: is when every citizen votes on a issue.

What? The assembly is responsible to present, electing, and they have the right to take questions for a law.
Who? The Men's have to be over 30 years old and they have to be citizens.
How often? It's about 8 to 10
Fairness? i would say it is fair. Because if they have a problem or a question for a law then they can report to the government within the next week.

How often? it is usually every month

Fairness? Yes I think it’s fair. its because if they have a problem they can report within a month.

What? Its when someone does something bad and are directly send to court
Who? They are the Jurors, plaintiff, defendant, judge, and jurors.
How often? It's about 3 to 4 months a month.
Limitations? Is that no one can be a slave,metic,women
Fairness? I would say that it is fair because if anything is going wrong you have the right to report to the government right away.

Criteria for Citizenship in Ancient Athens
Male, born in Athens, Complete military service, and over 18.
Life For Men/ Boys vs. Women/ Girls in Ancient Athens
Men/Boys: at seven, they go separate ways. Boys went to school and learned what we practically do, reading, writing, math, poems and literature.
Women and girls: focused at home. Were homeschooled, some learned how to read and write all on their own.

Fairness/ Equity in Athenian Democracy
Back then Athenians believed that majority rule was fair.
This meant that if Athenians voted on a law that would have over half of the agreement disagreed to the law, then it gets passed.
Sparta vs. Athens
Sparta was focused on war,
while the Athenians were focused on trying to solve problems.

Socrates thought that Democracy was runed by stupid people.

This person encouraged Athens to participate in the government, but they thought democracy was unique.
Athenian Democracy vs Canadian Democracy- similarities/ differences
Back then the Athenians were very unorganized they had over 6000 people talking at ones that means they need to start organizing their stuff.
but in Canadian democracy they are very organized and not too crazy, almost everyone gets a chance to vote and they can all have a chance to tell their opinion without anybody interrupting
