Diagnoses
look at blood work for signs of infection and muscle damage
high WBC count, low hematocrit, low hemoglobin
imaging
CT scan, MRI, ultrasound of damaged area
Taking tissue sample

Neurontin
Treat neuropathic nerve pain
Heparin
Anticoagulant and blood thinner to prevent thrombocytopenia
Rocephin
Fights bacterial infection by reducing white blood cell count
Tramadol
Treats moderate to severe pain (action os narcotic-like pain reliever)
Treatment
Surgically remove dead tissue
blood transfusion if patient needs multiple surgeries
Surgical procedure (amputation if severe necrosis)
Antibiotics

Signs and Symptoms
Changes in color of skin
Pus or oozing from the infected area
Diarrhea or nausea
Ulcers, blisters, or black spots on skin
Red, warm or swollen area of skin that spreads quickly
