Formative
Definition: Formative assessments allow teachers to monitor student progress, provide direct feedback, and adjust instruction.
Exit Slip: Exit slips are used to monitor student progress at the end of a lesson. Teachers can look at student exit slips to adjust instruction for the next meeting.
Kahoot: Kahoot games are a fun way to formally assess the class as to see what they might be struggling with. The kids love Kahoot!
Summative
Definition: Summative assessments allow teachers to assess what students know at the end of a lesson or unit.
End of Unit tests: Tests that are used to evaluate student learning at the end of a unit. Usually over a long period of time.

Definition: Interim/Benchmark assessments are used to assess students according to specific grade-level standards.

Definition: Performance assessments require students to perform a certain task instead of answering questions.
