- A needs to be either 0 or 1 or 2.
- Since D cannot be 0, so A cannot 0. A also cannot be 1. Hence A is 2.
- Since A is 2, D can be 3 or 8. Since A is 2, D >= 8, D = 8
- Since D = 8, 4 x B should not result in a carry. B = 0 or 1 or 2. Since D = 8, B = result from 4 x C + 3, thus B = odd = 1
- 4 x C needs to end in 8. C = 2 or C = 7
- C = 2 won't work out. Try it yourself.
- C = 7 does work out, along with B = 1

- Given the angle is 60°, base of triangle 1/2/3/4 is x/2
- Triangle 1 can be retrofit on 2 and 3 on 4 to form another rectangle.
- The widths and heights of the 3 rectangles formed are equal. From there it is straightforward to derive shaded ratio 1:3

- Measure 3 minutes with 3 minute timer, while draining 5 minute timer to get 2, 3 in the latter.
- Measure another 2 minutes with the part left in 5 minute timer.
- Now the 3 minute timer has 1, 2 left in it.
- Measure 2 minutes with the part left in the 3 minute timer.
- 45 minutes = 30 minutes + 15 minutes
- Light a rope at both ends. When it completely burns out, you get 30 minutes.
- If we lighted the second rope also at the start, what would be left of it would be 30 minutes.
- Now, burn it at the second end to double the speed of burning, so we can measure 15 minutes.

- Answer = YOU ARE POINTLESS
- Fractions with numerator 1 and varying denominators can be arranged straightforward.
- Fractions 2/3 and 3/4 need to be inserted in the right position. Use insertion sort, and they come right ahead of 1/2.
