AVOID ABRUPTLY DISCONTINUING IN PATIENTS WITH ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE. GRADUALLY REDUCE DOSES OVER 1-2 WEEKS.

diltiazem (Cardizem)
Drug-Drug Interactions
diltiazem: increased levels of digoxin, guinidine
digoxin, beta blockers: partial or complete heart block, HF
alcohol, beata blockers, antihypertensives: increased hypotension
Mechanism of Action
calcium channel blocker: decreases muscle contraction, relaxes both coronary and peripheral vessels to decrease workload
