        The Prussians won, it was officially ended by the Treaty of Prague, Prussia gained control over Schleswig-Holstein. This connected the western and eastern parts of Prussia. The most important result of the war was that Prussia had control over the North German Confederation.

        Otto von Bismarck - He was the principal agent, the statesman. Created an alliance with Italy.

        (all worked together to challenge Austria, which ended in a win for Prussia)

        He brought Prussia to win three wars, unified the German states, and made Germany a strong European power. His german Empire only lasted 20 years after he left.
      - Origin
        
        Born to an aristocratic family. He built up a lot of debts. He ended up marrying Johanna Puttkammer, which calmed him down and he took more care into his politivs. He had more of a conservative view.
    - - Supported Prussian king. Unified Germany under the leadership of the king. He practiced realpolitik with the most success, lead by blood and iron. He was able to gain Schleswig and Holstein. He planned his diplomacy very carefully and was able to use his resources to manipulate other nations and situations in his favor. Helped to unify the German states, create the German Empire.

      - Outcomes
        
        The Prussians won, the French lost. Prussia besieged Paris and France was forced to surrender. Bismarck signed a convention with the French government, that would lead to a peace treaty. This led to the unification of the German states (Not including Austria).
      - Key People
        
        Otto von Bismarck - released documents that showed France demanded Belgium and Luxembourg, which lost British support for the French. Bismarck made it so France was forced to fight alone
        Napoleon III - Declared war on Prussia on July 19, 1870.
        Helmuth von Moltke - exploited German superiority in numbers in most of the war’s battles.
    - - Was mainly fought along the Eastern French Border, then Prussian forces moved into France and took over Paris.

        1st Schleswig War - Ended in the Treaty of London. This stated the integrity of the Danish realm in the European balance of power.
        2nd Schleswig War - Prussia got administrative power over Schleswig and Austria got power over power over Holstein.
