Electric current is the flow of electrons from one atom to another inside a conductive material
Electricity is a form of energy thet lets electrons move from one atom to another

Electrical energy i the most common form of energy because it is easy to obtain
Conductors and insulators
Electric circuits. Components
CONDUCTORS: are thematerials that electric current flow through them are called conductors
ELECTRIC CIRCUIT: is a series of interconnected components that an electric current flows through
iNSULATORS: are the materials that do not let electric current pass throuhg them
COMPONENTS
CONDUCTORS: transport the elctrical energy. They are wires
LOAD DEVICES: receive the electrical energy and convert it to other types of useful energy. They are motors, lamps...
POWER SOURCES: supply the necesary electrical energy to the circuit to move electrons. They are bateries and cells.
CONTROL DEVICES: regulate the circuit. Prevent the flow of electric current trough the circuit. They are swiches
Components of a circuit
POWER SOURCES
CELL: supplies electrical energy to the rest of the circuit. cells have a positive terminal and a negative terminal
BATTERY: a grouped set of cells
LOAD DEVICES
LAMP: converts electrical energy into light energy
MOTOR: converts electrical energy to kinetic energy
BUZZER: converts electrical energy to sound energy
OPEN CIRCUIT AND CLOSE CIRCUIT. SHORT CIRCUIT
OPEN AND CLOSE CIRCUITS
RESISTOR: a load device thet opposes the flow of the electric current. Converts electrical energy to heat energy
SHORT CIRCUITS: the energy in the wire does not pass through a load device.
CLOSE CIRCUIT: the energy reaches the load devices, so electric current can flow.
OPEN CIRCUIT: the energy cannot reach the load devices, so elctric current cannot flow.
This is very dangerous, so do not do in home, it can cause fire or give you an electric shock.
Types of circuits
CONDUCTORS
CONVERTING ELECTRICAL ENERGY
WIRE: the component thet the electric current flows through
Series circuits: all the components are connected one after the other. This way,all the current flows throuh all devices. There is only one possible path.
Parallel circuits: The load devices are connected on different branches of wire. There are several possible paths.
Series-parallel combination circuits: These circuits contain devices connected in seies and parallel.
CONTROL DEVICES
ONE WAY SWITCH: they open or close the circuit when they are pressed. One
TWO WAY SWITCH: they have two positions. When we pressed them, they change from one position to the other. They are also called changeover switch.
LIGHT: we can convert it through lamps
PUSH SWITCH: they open and close the circuit but only while pressing the button. These devices can either br open(NO) or closed (NC) depending on what they do before they are pressed. NOswitches are also called push-to-make switches and NC switches can be called push-to-break switchws
HEAT: The electrons create friction with the material, which produce heat
MOTION: With a motor the elctricity shafts turns in arotator motion
SOUND: The sound is produced by vibrations thet ae transmited through a buzzer or bells
ENERGY AND THE ENVIRONMENT
ENVIRONMENT IMPACT OF ENERGY PRODUCTION AND TRANSMITION
Is produced in power stations from energy to electrica energy.
