Electricity and direct current circuits.

energy and the enviroment
responable use of electrical energy
when we save energy, we save money but we save something more important, the natural resources
impact of energy production and transimison
electrical energy is generated in power stations that changes the form of the electricity.
is recomended tha the people use renewables energies
Conductors and Insulators.
Materils that let electeic current flow through them for example copper, tin, aluminion ect are called conductors
Materials that do not let electric current flow through them plastic, paper, textiles ect are called insulators
Conductors: GOLD AND SILVER
Insulators: WOOD
converting electrical energy
heat
when electrons move trough a conductor or load device, that produce heat, this is callled de joule effect
motion
we can convert electricity in motion with a motor, this is used for wash machines.
light
we can convert electricity trough load devices like incandescent lamps, fluorescent tubes or low-energy lamps.
sound
we can convert electricity to transmit sound, the sound comes out of a loadspeaker, that produce a membrane that vibrate
open circuits, closed circuits and short circuits
open circuit
when a circuit is open, the electricity can´t pass trough the circuit.
closed circuit
short circuits
a short circuit is when isn´t any receptor.
when a circuit is closed, the electricity can pass trough the circuit.
types of circuits
parallel circuits
the recptors are in vertical, if you disconnect one receptor, the others receptors still working.
series circuit
the receptors are in horizontal, if you disconnect one receptor, the others receptors aren´t going to work.
Electricity energy
Electric current:: Is the flow of electrons from one atom to another inside a conductive material.
Electricity: is a form of energy that lets negatively charged particles move from one atom to another.
all materials are made up of very small particules called atoms. In turn these atoms are made up of other particules that are even smaller.
there are three ways
protons
neutrons
Electrons
Electric circuits. Components
An electric circuit is a series of interconnected components that an electric current flows through to produce an effect ( like light, heat, sound or motion)
Power sources: Components that supply the necessary electrical energy to the rest of the circuit in order to move the electrons.
Conductors: Components that transport the electrical energy from the power sources to the load devices in other words.
Load Devices: Components that supply the necesary electrical energy to the rest of the circuit in order to move
Control devices: Devices that regulate the circuit in other words they allow or prevent the flow of electric current throught the circuit.
Power sources:
Cell: Supplies electrical energy to the rest of the circuit.
Battery: A grouped set of cells
Load devices
Lamp: Convects electrical energy to light energy
Resistor: a load device that opposes the flow of the electric current.
Motor: converts electrical energy to kinetic energy
Buzzer: converts electrical energy to sound energy
Conductors
Wire: The components that the electric current flows trought
Crontol devices:
Push switch: open and close the circuit but only while te button is pushed.
One way switch: open or close the circuit when they are pressed.
Two way switch: have two positions. When we press them, they change from one position to the other.
