First conditional sentences are made up of an if clause and a main clause, the if clause has the present simple tense. the main clause has the future simple tense with will
WHAT IS THE FIRT CONDITIONAL? First conditional sentences are used to talk about future things wich migth happen that we believe are real and possible.
We use the first conditional to talk about things that are likely to happen and their possible consequences.
FIRST CONDITIONAL
f he tells the truth, they will forgive him.
If we leave now we may get there by two.
If we are not there when they arrive, they can wait at the pub.
WILL & WON'T
We use will / won't to make predictions about the future
We usually contract will to 'll in spoken english
We use these adverbs will / won't to express degrees of certainty and uncertainty.
We usually contract will to 'll with pronouns when we speak, and we normally use the contraction won't isitead of will not
We often use will whit the adverbs possibly, probably and definitely to express degrees of certainty, as well as the phrases: I think and I don't think.
In sentences, the contracted will form ('ll) is not stressed. However the contracted will not form (won't) is given the same stress as the main verb. Normally we only write 'll with pronouns, but we often say it whit other nouns.
WILL & WON'T
I will buy a car soon.
You will stay home today.
John will cook dinner.
I won’t talk to you again.
Michael won’t be late.
They won’t be happy.
MAY & MIGHT
She. may. might. can. be at home. She's ill.
She. may. might. can. go to the mall but she probably will finish late.
May. Might. I use the telephone, please?
MAY & MIGHT
In popular usage and speech, may and might are used interchangeably when referring to possibility and probability, but there is a slight difference between the two.
May is used to express what is possible, factual, or could be factual.
Might is used to express what is hypothetical, counterfactual, or remotely possible.
