Causes
- Alexis de Tocqueville - oppressive government causes the middle class to revolt (refers to the middle class who are aware of their socioeconomic perspective)
- Karl Marx - revolutions are the result of a conflict between social classes in a capitalist society. For a perfect utopia to be met for the workers, (equal contribution and distribution for the society) revolutions shall happen.
- Gustave Le Bon - applied the field of mass psychology on his theory. People tend to unconsciously follow others (the majority) and participate in revolutions
- Charles Ellwood - communications is the key element for social understanding
- Theda Skopcol - with the globalization, this can lead to an uneven development in society --> political, social and economic causes of revolutions
- Chimene Keitner - nationalism is the motivating force of modern revolutions
Types
- Revolutionary Wars - Cases when the government officially declares the war (formal acknowledgment) in the process of government overthrow (revolution)
- Government Overthrow - Doesn't necessarily involve violent riots, but a process to remove the oppressive/corrupted government
- Economic Revolutions - revolutionary changes on economic systems / traditional methods are to substitute mechanics to human labours to meet the demand
- Social and Cultural Revolutions - to change social/religious/cultural stereotypes but to gain autonomy

Causes/Reasons
the initial spark happened from a working-class vendor- who got confiscated, beaten, and publicly humiliated by the authoritarians just because of an unlicensed cart. As authoritarians didn't want to hear further complaints, he purposedly set himself on fire in front of the local government's office.

Muhammad Bouazizi's death inspired others who were suffering from unemployments because of corrupted governments.

Context
- Revolution has been defined as a 'violent/forceful movement to overthrow an old government and have a change.'
- Marxist Communism theorized that revolution is necessary to move societies from one historical stag to the next.
- The twentieth century was an age of revolution for Asia, as Western Countries were going through the industrialization and forced them to develop (to fulfill their demand)
- As the world evolves, the concept of revolution would change as well.

Causes/Reasons
With the increased demand of cottons but lack of labor (slaves), people needed more rational and effective ways to manufacture more products (cotton) and reach the demand. With the eureka moment, Whitney simply improved existing inventions and patented his 'invention.'
Like a domino effect, those inventions spurred innovation and economic boom in America. Even though lots of innovations have led humans to live easily, it has also led to thousand's of deaths as well as child labors and human rights violations.
