How My Game Will Deal With Difficulty - Coggle Diagram
How My Game Will Deal With Difficulty
Level
The level will start off small but will then get increasingly large to make the game harder to beat and to be able to have hiding spots for scrap piles and trophies
The Levels will include sections of trophies/scrap piles and cannot be accessed until later in the game when the player unlocks new abilities or weapons.
The levels will include simple sections focused highly on the fighting aspect and then sections highly focused on the platforming but could later mix the both of them for a harder experience.
Player
Upgrades
The game will feature scrap collected from either enemy robots or scrap piles around the map.
The scrap metal will be used to upgrade the player in different ways
The health will start off as a one hit death in the game and the scrap metal will be used to increase the amount of times the Boxbot can be damaged
Damage
We could also have jump upgrades that will unlock things like slamming or jump boosting for damage and platform possibilities.
The damaging part of the game will be used for the jumping on enemies and optional weapons. The upgrades could either add new features to the weapons or just increase the stats
Health
Weapons
The Player will start the game with a jump attack, the weapon amount will increase the further you go in the game.
The Boxbot can unlock weapons like an explosive flyball which creates a controllable ball that detonates in a set amount of time, this will be used for boss' and to collect secret scrap.
The first unlock the Boxbot could unlock would be the simple blaster which fires pellets from his arm and can be controlled using the mouse or Right Joystick.
These weapons will be used to also open secret scrap piles or trophies that can encourage the player to 100% beat the game
Enemies/ Obstacles
Damage
I feel my game to be a one hit death game, though the game can change in the final version to add health.
Another option would be to start you off with one hit point and that you upgrade yourself throughout the game to have better health, damage etc.
Health
The Health of the enemies vary on the types of enemies.
Large enemies may seem to be the hardest though they have specific weaknesses that will make killing the enemy easier.
Small and middle enemies will have varying health determined on what type of weapon they use.
Spawn
The game will have a set amount of enemies to appear in every level, though the types of enemies may change randomly with restrictions for the big variety of enemies
Size
My game will feature not only robots but police as the Obstacle in the game. You will not attempt to destroy the police because you do not want to harm a human being, though I could have a part of a mission where you knock out an officer to get past them.
The Robots will come in different sizes. We could have big enemies primarily being the boss enemies or normal big enemies with significant weaknesses. The game will primarily feature the smaller enemies with powerful weapons like homing rockets or blasters.
Options
The Difficulty can go Easy, medium, Hard and maybe Impossible If I want them to be super accurate and damaging
