lesbian
A homosexual woman whose emotional, romantic and sexual feelings are towards women
gay
a male-identifying person who is attracted to people of the same gender, or, another broad term for being queer
pansexual
A person whose romantic and/or sexual attraction towards others is not limited by sex or gender. basically they don't care about gender.

omnisexual
Omnisexuals are attracted to all genders. Gender can still be a factor in their attraction, unlike pansexuals, who don’t care about gender
polysexual
Is the attract to some, but not all, genders. They may be attracted to any combination of possible genders, including binary & non-binary.
biromantic
A person who is romantically attracted to two sexes or genders. Biromantic asexuals seek romantic relationships for companionship, affection, and intimacy, but they are not sexually attracted to their romantic partners.
aromatic
similar to asexual, these people don't experience romantic attraction. they dot have to identify as asexual and may still experience sensual and aesthetic attraction
things to note
don't assume that when someone hangs out with someone within there interests they have a crush on them or are dating.

don't force someone to come out or discuses their sexuality /gender if they aren't comfortable they will tell when they're ready
try not to say describe things as gay like general clothing items. especially of you mean it like you dont like someones outfit

genders
side note. this is where it starts getting complicated. gender is not just two things. think of it as a color wheel style thing. with things very able to change with the smallest movement.

genderfluid
A person who is Gender Fluid may always feel like a mix of the two traditional genders, but may feel more boy some days, and more girl other days. Being Gender Fluid has nothing to do with which set of genitalia one has, nor their sexual orientation.

polygender
A person who has multiple genders. The genders can either fluctuate or be simultaneously present. Aside of male & female, a polygender persons’ genders can include non-binary as well.
gender queer
A person who feels that his/her gender identity does not fit into socially constructed ‘norms’. Genderqueer is an identity that falls anywhere between man/boy/male and woman/girl/female on the spectrum of gender identities.
transgender
A trans woman is a woman who was assigned male at birth. A trans man is a man who was assigned female at birth

demigender
A term for identities that only have a partial connection to a certain gender. When identifying as Demigender, there are an extra two labels attached. Demiboy & Demigirl also come under the demigender umbrella
demi girl
Someone whose gender identity is only partly female, regardless of their assigned gender at birth. They may or may not identify as another gender in addition to feeling partially a girl or a woman.
demi boy
Someone whose gender identity is only partly male, regardless of their assigned gender at birth. They may or may not identify as another gender in addition to feeling partially a boy or man.
intersex
intersex people are born with sex characteristics (including genitals, gonads and chromosome patterns) that do not fit typical binary notions of male or female bodies. Intersex is an umbrella term used to describe a wide range of natural bodily variations
terminology
questioning - To be unsure of or re-examining your own sexual orientation or referring to someone who is.
queer - this used to be used against the lgbtqia+ community as a slur. this word has now been reclaimed but unless you know a person is comfortable with being refered to as this it is best to steer away from it.

prefixes and suffixes
poly-
if a term starts with poly- it generally means that the person identifies or is attracted to more the one.

pronouns
eg. she/her/hers, he/him/his, they/them/theirs, it/its, ze/zir
these can be combined to make she/they and they can change on the daily so many genderfluid people wear color coded jewelry or something similar to represent the days pronouns
these can be combined to make things like she/they or he/they for when someone doesn't feel completely feminine or masculine but also doesn't feel completely free from genered terms
pronouns can also fluctuate for gender identities under things like genderfluid or if a person just doesn't feel their current pronouns suit them. its fine. people can change their minds
