What is your opinion about the issue, and what caused you to form that opinion?
To me, it shows how important having an accurate story is when reporting. This issues shows that not giving the whole and accurate truth can not only hurt many people, but how it can bring more controversy to the issue than need be.
I feel that if Dylan Davies would have provided an accurate version to his story he would have never been publicly investigated. It makes me wonder if he even provided the truth to Lara Logan or the FBI, because why lie to one source and expect to be believed by the other.
Involving politics into any issue will only escalate the situation. I feel the focus of the story went from a false story to being used for political advantage.
Play devils advocate, what opposing view could be expressed?
The government used the Dylan Davies story to focus on his lies rather than having to give accurate accounts of what took place in Benghazi.

How could using a balance in research and reporting tactics have made a difference in the outcome of what was reported?
I feel that 60 Minutes should have verified Dylan Davies' story, especially after he said he told the FBI the same exact story. It would have caught the mishap if they would have just took the time to prove that Davies' story was accurate.
I think that Karen DeYoung could have not picked a side instead of turning over her report to Congress. It would have kept it from turning into a political movement, but instead been an updated story about 60 Minutes.
