It contains some of Auden's most famous poems. It's dated 1940 so it was publishd on the eve of the Second World War and when Auden decided to leave England and went to America
The title is symbolic: when he moved to the USA he entered another worls and he shared his exile with many other refugees. The collection marks Auden's turn to ethical concerns
