NITROGEN CYCLE - Coggle Diagram
NITROGEN CYCLE
-
Denitrification
- Denitrifying bacteria in the soil convert nitrate ions in the soil into nitrogen
- Then it leaves the soil and return to the air
- The process known as denitrification
Nitrate Leaching
-
- Nitrates ions in soil dissolve in water, then flow into rivers or undeground water
- This process removes nitrate ions from the soil
Nitrogen Fixation
- Nirogen fixing bacteria in the soil, water or living
symbiotically in legume plant root nodules converts ->
nitrogen in the air into nitrate ions
- Resulting action of nitrogen -fixing bacteria
increases nitrate ions in soil
-
Nitrification
- Decomposing bacteria convert -> animal protein & plant protein into ammonium compounds through the process of decomposition (occur when animals & plant die)
