KBSM
The design of the curriculum
KBSM is based on 3 main field which is communication, people and environment.
KBSM curriculum design is said to be based by learning outcomes.
Curriculum document
KBSM uses the syllabus as well as the syllabus description as the document of the curriculum.
Time allocation
Time set to complete the whole document content of KBSM is few minutes per week.
(Existed ever since 1989 & revised in year 2003 before it made further changes in 2017 to KSSM)
Element of curriculum
The elements in cross-curricular of KBSM are Language, Science & Technology, Information & Communication Technology (ICT), Environmental Sustainability, Values and Patriotism ONLY.

Suppression of pedagogy
KBSM emphasize more on inquiry based learning, contextual learning, collaborative learning, and project based learning ONLY.
Type of assessment
KBSM assesses learners summative (mid/end of term exams) and formative (weekly and monthly quizzes) way ONLY.
KSSM
The aim is to make the learning progress of the National Curriculum becomes holistic and relevant in line with the learning style (21st century)

Additional of two more elements which are creativity and innovation, entrepreneurship and global sustainability
Suppression of pedagogy
KSSM has additional education elements which are learning in solving problems, constructivism approach and STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics)

The assessment is based form the DSKP as in Standard Prestasi
