evaluation (GRAVE)
G: lack generalisability only used male students, not representative of culture, genders or ages and whether they will conform to social roles, cannot generalise the results.
V: high controlled variables, especially when choosing the prisoners due to random choice, helped the researcher eliminate individuals personalities, Controlled variables mean sit has high internal validity, therefore we can have higher confidence in the conclusion drawn.
E: unethical- did not get full consent( did not get consent to be arrested at their homes, cause harm and embarrassment), did not protect participants from harm(many prisoners were at harm eg: sprayed with a fire extinguisher, emotional and psychological strain), decided on the after-effects of the study.
