Pre-assessment for differentiation
The students will take a multiple choice quiz about organisms are system testing their prior knowledge before starting unit 2 for G8 science.
students who have good prior knowledge and know most of the questions but can't answer all the questions.
Students list the 7 main organ systems in the body and relay what each organ system does. .They can do this using a presentation.
The students will be monitored through exit tickets and assessed through their presentation.
High achiever who know the answer to all the questions and got everything right.
students can research how the different organ system work together and how one organ system can impact another
Students will save the resources and will try to write it down in a daily report
Students will use the information they have researched and will a board game detailing how the organ systems affect each. This will be their assessment.
Students whose prior knowledge is lacking due to a variety of reasons.
Students list 5 different organ system and be able to identify how each one helps the organism survive.
The students can use IXL individually to practice different organ systems till they achieve mastery without having to worry about keeping up with other students
The data gleaned from IXl will be able to be used to monitor them to see if they are on track and know which areas they are struggling on.
