Hepatic diseases - Coggle Diagram

- - - - REQUIRED FOR DIAGNOSIS
    - - CBC: normal or nonregerative anemia
        Chem: elevated, liver, bilirubin, bile acids
      - CBC: neutrophilia, left shift, toxic change
        Chem: elevated liver, bilirubin, abnormalities, pre-renal azotemia
        
        Differences: LYMPHOCYTIC
        hypoalbuminemia is mild, ALT and bilirubin not as high, hyperglobulinemia more significant, less comorbities!!
    - - prolonged coagulation possible
- - - - dehydration
      - cranial abdominal pain
      - fever
      - hepatomegaly
      - Lethargy
      - jaundice
      - anorexia
      - vomiting
      - diarrhea
      - weight loss
  - - - PU/PD
      - SIMILAR TO SUPPRATIVE FORM
- - - - signs are similar along the board for all hepatic diseases but these are linked to that "acutness" of the disease onset
    - - leukocytosis / leukopenia
      - thrombocytopenia
      - liver enzyme elevation
        
        ALT increases 100 fold 24-48 hours post AST parallels ALT
        
        ALP increases 2-5 fold
        
        GGT MAY BE UNCHANGED!!!
      - Hepatic dysfunction
        
        elevated pt ptt and fibrinogen
        
        LIVER BIOPSY IS OFTEN A NO GO!!!!!!!!!!
      - elevated ammonia
      - bilirubinuria
      - Hypokalemia: FROM V/D and anorexia
      - elevated lactate
      - hypo/hyperphosphatemia
