- Macbeth fights along Banquo to defeat rebel armies
- Duncan rewards Macbeth and Banquo
- Macbeth tell Lady Macbeth about the prophecies
- The witches cast prophecies about Banquo and Macbeth
Act 2
- Macbeth begins to second guess himself about the murder
- Goes through with the plan and kills Duncan
- The next morning everyone finds out about the murder, Malcolm and Donalbain leave Scotland
- Macbeth is crowned King of Scotland
Act 5
- Lady Macbeth grows insane over the murders and commits suicide
- Burnham Wood moves towards Dunsinane and the battle starts
- Macduff tells Macbeth that he was ripped from his mother's stomach
- Macduff kills Macbeth and Malcolm is crowned King of Scotland

Sets up the story for Macbeth - Without the witches there would be no motive for Macbeth to do what he does

Act 3
- Banquo begins to think that Macbeth is responsible for the murder
- Macbeths sends murderers out to kill Banquo and his son, Fleance, but Fleance escapes
- Macbeth holds a banquet and sees the ghost of Banquo. He begins to freak out and is showing signs that he is slowly becoming insane
Act 4
- Macbeth becomes obsessed with power
- Witches tell Macbeth that he should beware Macduff
- Malcolm and Macduff prepare an army to kill Macbeth
