Sensory areas provide sensations of temp., touch, pressure & pain involving skin.

Frontal lobe

Association areas carry on higher intellectual processes for concentrating, planning, complex problem solving, and judging the consequences of behavior. Frontal lobe is important for voluntary movement, expressive language and for managing higher level executive functions.

Responsible for hearing. Commonly associated with processing auditory info & with the encoding of memory.
Ex. Counting (remembering how to count)
Ex. Processing sound waves
Association areas interpret sensory experiences and remember visual scenes, music, and other complex sensory patterns.

Ex. Visual perception
