Sustainability and Cities
Sustainability is about keeping the world clean. Lack of keeping the environment in a good condition can result in ecosystems being destroyed, rubbish and waste everywhere and animals at risk.
The human population grew quickly because people found better healing resources and better agriculture which lowers the number of deaths. Women still birth normal and often.
More people means more resources being used. The resource/goods number grows.
Overcrowding means having not enough space to survive. Everything/everyone is really near you and it's hard to do things.
Sustainability means using or harvesting resources without depleting or damaging them.
Humans are responsible for using the earth's resources sustainably.
The king risked the beauty of nature and wasted the natural power to make the kingdom 'better'. When he realised his kingdom was suffering and falling apart from climate change and pollution, he started to use renewable energy such as the wind, water and sun to make up for the loss of nature.
The cities have become more modern looking and has high tech buildings. The area around is improved than the previous years. They are all made on flat land and near waterways.
The problems could be less nature and more pollution. There could be too many people and not much resources.
Beijing= Population:21.5 million. Density :1300 squarekm
Shanghai = Population: 24 million. Density: 3800 squarekm
Karachi = Population: 23.5 million. Density: 1665 squarekm
Sustainability is using earth's resources properly and saving it.
We are studying sustainability so we know how to help our environment and keep it clean/tidy.
