        In 1944 , joined the African National Congress (ANC).
        
        IN 1960 , the government banned the ANC and other countries began to oppose the aparthied system in South Africa.
        
        In 1980s, the new president de Klerk removed the ban on protest movements.
      - He was born in South Africa in 1918 , studies law, he became a lawyer in Johannesburg and died in 2013.
        
        He was sent to prison for life in 1964.
        
        In 1990 was finally released from prison , thanks to the help of the new president de Klerk.
      - PRIZES
        
        Black South Africans could vote for the first time in 1994 elections.
        
        Nelson Mandela is the first black president as their country.
        
        In 1993 he was shared the Nobel Peace prize with de Klerk
