Positive Impact of the EU? There has been no major war in Europe in over seventy years. All countries must be democracies, which has helped to stop any dictatorships. *The EU is now a huge market in which people move and trade freely among other member states.
Criticisms of EU:
- some people are worried about its power over their lives, concerned that they have given up too much independence.
- Some are uncomfortable with the social and economic changes that have resulted from free movement of people in the EU.
- These fears shown in 2016 when UK decided to leave EU (Brexit).
