Plates move towards each other causing the magma to melt and rise up through cracks and erupt at the surface
Volcanoes usually form along plate margins, where tectonic plates are either moving towards or away from one another and most are found underwater.

Volcanoes affect different places in different ways. They cause more damage in poorer countries, where there are fewer resources to predict and prepare for them.

Volcanoes have a large effect on their locality. They produce ash ,lava ,volcanic bombs ,pyroclastic flows and lahars. Ash from large volcanoes has been known to affect global climates.

There is a deadly type of volcano called the stratovolcano and after that there is the cinder cone volcano.
Lead: Did you know when the lava is inside the volcano it is called magma and when it comes out it is called lava!!
