Reading
These students will move on to read the next chapter in the book. Then, they will answer advanced comprehension questions about the reading. They will discuss their answers with their peers that are also excelling. They will modify their answers based on the team's conclusions and prepare to present their findings the next class.
At grade level
Reading
These students will read the next chapter in the book. They will then answer some slightly difficult comprehension questions. They will share their answers with their team. Then, they will update their answers and prepare to present them next class.
Math
These students will read about solving multi-part word problems and work with their team to complete a worksheet.
Below grade level
Math
These students will work with the teacher to review what word problem terms mean. For example "more" means add. Then, they will re-do the worksheet from last class. They will highlighting those key words in the word problems and set up the equations. Then, they will work with their team to solve the equations.
Reading
The teacher will review how to figure out the answers to comprehension questions. Then, the students will work with their team to reread the chapter in the book and fix their answers to the comprehension questions. Then, they will read the next chapter in the book and answer some basic comprehension questions with the teacher's assistance. They will go over their answers with their team and prepare to present them next class.
Special needs

This student will read a modified summary of the chapter. Then, they will preview the vocabulary needed to read the next chapter. They will read a modified summary of the next chapter (in English) and answer comprehension questions in their native language.
